Have you ever observed that TV anchors, diplomats and – maintain onto your blue and yellow flags – even American politicians on each side of the aisle say “Kyiv” (pronounced “KEEV”) and never “Kiev” (KEE-ev)? On this day of deep divides on nearly each subject, it is sobering to see such settlement on the subject of how we pronounce the title of Ukraine’s capital metropolis.
