University of Edinburgh Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2023/2024: Digitally Fully Funded for African Students

We are pleased to inform all interested graduates to start applying for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Edinburgh.

  • 2-year part-time postgraduate Diploma scholarships.

Note, the University of Edinburgh scholarship program is an online program, and students who are interested in pursuing their career digitally are invited.

Digital learning has proven to be an effective learning approach, especially in this digital era.

Students can take online courses while working and doing other activities.

Requirements for the University of Edinburgh Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2023/2024

To qualify for this scholarship you must pass the following criteria;

  • You need to have the equivalent of a UK Second Class (Upper) Bachelor’s (Hons) degree or higher; Each university has a requirement for gaining admission for any Masters’s program; 2’1 or above.
  • Must be a graduate before December 2022 and must have achieved any degree certificate while having your final transcript at hand.
  • Must be a resident of any Sub-Saharan African country.
  • Must not have the financial capability of studying internationally; Scholarships are meant for people who aren’t capable of funding their studies themselves.
  • Special consideration is given to female scholars, scholars from refugee and displaced backgrounds, and scholars with disabilities.
  • Must possess good leadership traits which might need to be verifiable.
  • Must not have any existing postgraduate degree or admission; for masters students.
  • For PG diploma applicants: You may have an undergraduate or Master’s degree from a Sub-Saharan African university (provided they will graduate from either degree before December 2022). See info for more inquiries.
  • Applicants must be 35 or under on 1st September 2023.

How to Apply for University of Edinburgh Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2023/2024

Before rushing to apply, first check if you are qualified by reading the above information carefully.

Now, if you are qualified to apply follow the instructions below;

  • Applicants are advised to apply for the scholarship before applying directly to the University.

PLEASE NOTE: POST GRADUATE STUDENTS PORTAL WILL BE OPEN BY THURSDAY 15 DECEMBER AT 10AM AND CLOSE BY FRIDAY 27 JANUARY, AT 5PM UK TIME.

27 January 2023 (5pm UK time) Applications close
10 – 13 April 2023 Online Distance Learners (ODL) Interview shortlisting begins; both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified (Please note references will be requested for applicants invited for an interview)
18 April – 12 May 2023 ODL interviews take place
Mid-end of May 2023 ODL Interview outcomes will be announced
June – July 2023 Support provided through admissions processes
September 2023 Academic program starts
